In 2021, Palos Verdes Art Center presented Eugene Daub: MONUMENTAL, a retrospective of the internationally acclaimed sculptor’s large public works sited across the U.S. This exhibition disclosed the many stages that are crossed in the course of developing a monument – the evolution from a sketch to a maquette, then an enlargement, the mold-making process, and finally the pouring of the bronze and welding it all back together again from many pieces – giving a behind-the-scenes view into the creation of monumental sculptures.

Join us Saturday, February 9, when Eugene returns to PVAC to revisit his exhibition and sign copies of the newly released book chronicling his artistic practice of over five decades.
