PAUL BRAYTON

Incorporating an array of historic and contemporary techniques, Brayton uses the natural environment as a guide and metaphor for his blown glass vessels. Like several participants in the exhibition, Brayton is an educator who established and maintains two high school glass programs on the Palos Verdes Peninsula. He also oversees Palos Verdes Art Center’s glass studio, leading classes and workshops.

BIO

Paul Brayton holds a BFA from Pitzer College where he first fell in love with glass blowing. He went on to pursue his MFA at UC San Bernardino under the mentorship of Katherine Gray. As a surfer, Paul relates to the fluidity of glass and the physical action of being in constant motion. A resident of San Pedro, in addition to being an educator, Brayton also creates components for high-end lighting fixtures.
