Originally trained in Japan, where she was instilled with a strong understanding of traditional craft, Yamamoto continued her studies with Katherine Gray at San Bernardino, where she expanded her take on glass, its energy, and its expressive potentiality. Yamamoto seeks to form her own contemporary art practice with spirituality inspired by the simple beauty of the natural world, along with a consistent aim to celebrate the power of life.
BIO
Nao Yamamoto was born in Japan, and has been building her artistic practice in the United States since 2011. She received the Masters of Fine Arts in studio art and design from California State University, San Bernardino in 2014, and her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Tama Art University, in Tokyo in 2011, specializing in glass art.
