Juried by Neil Gaiman and Lowell Nickel

The Summer Show is a juried all-media exhibition hosted by and open for submission only to members of the Palos Verdes Art Center’s eight active artists’ groups: Artists Open Group, Pacific Arts Group, Paletteers, Palos Verdes Painters, Peninsula Artists, Photographic and Digital Artists, The Artist’s Studio, and Third Dimension.

Juror for Two-Dimensional Art: Neil Gaiman. Renowned author, Neil Gaiman, will bring fresh eyes and a new approach to art jurying. His creative output includes comic books, short fiction, novels, and film. Recent TV and film adaptions of his work include CORALINE and AMERICAN GODS. He is also an essayist and teacher as illustrated in MAKE GOOD ART and ART MATTERS. Included among his numerous awards are the coveted Carnegie and Newbury medals and the Hugo award.

Juror for Three-Dimensional Art: Lowell Nickel. Lowell’s Southern Calif. artist experience starts in the late 1970s. Lowell earned his BA in ceramics and MFA in drawing and painting from Cal State Long Beach. His exhibitions include his painting, ceramic earth art and mixed media installations in the beach cities area.
