Palos Verdes Art Center / Beverly G. Alpay Center for Arts Education Beverly G. Alpay Center for Arts Education is pleased to announce Anne Olsen Daub: MULTI-FACETED, an exhibition of sculpture and jewelry, on view January 27 through April 13, 2024.

“Found objects are constantly seducing me. The allure of the discarded is the basis of my artist journey. My art is a testament to the evocative power of storytelling and jewelry’s ability to carry profound messages and reflect the complexities of our world.

I see beautiful antique objects that have had a prior function and reimagine them into an elegant new beginning with new purpose. Exploring and combining objects with other contemporary materials creates an interplay intertwined with historical context and reflections of bygone eras.

The political, mournful, spiritual monuments, and societal aspects that jewelry can symbolize are my inspiration. In each opulent and oversized sculpture and wearable piece, I encapsulate the essence of an icon or emblematic expression of its era.

It is my wish that viewers and wearers alike will embark on their own personal journey of re-imagination. My goal is to provoke contemplation of the past while taking individuals to realms where the familiar becomes elevated and extraordinary.”
