SUMMER SHOW
with PVAC ARTIST GROUPS

Juried all-media exhibition hosted by and open for submission only to members of the Palos Verdes Art Center’s eight active artists’ groups: Artists Open Group, Pacific Arts Group, Paletteers, Palos Verdes Painters, Peninsula Artists, Photographic and Digital Artists, The Artist’s Studio, and Third Dimension.
JUROR: Karl Dempwolf:
Karl Dempwolf is a well-known landscape painter who has been strongly influenced by the early California Impressionists; Rose, Puthoff, Payne, and Reitschel. Beginning his academic career at Cal State Northridge, Mr. Dempwolf went on to Art Center and USC finishing with a Master’s degree in 1974. Originally, Karl was interested in film and he received the coveted CINE Golden Eagle award for his film “The Story of a Craftsman”. However, he found his true passion in landscape painting and has excelled in this genre for over 25 years. Karl has had exhibitions at The Museum of Science and Industry, The Phippen Museum, in Prescott Arizona, The Bower Museum, and The Pasadena Museum of California Art. He has paintings in many galleries including The Vault Gallery in Cambria, The Carmel Gallery of Fine Art, and The Portico Gallery. In 2017, Mr. Dempwolf was awarded a lifetime achievement award by Eric Roads, publisher of many fine art magazines. Mr. Dempwolf is also the author of a new book, “A Painters Journey.”

ON LINE SUBMISSION PROCEDURE:
• Go to www.callforentry.org
• create a CaFE profile
• in Photo-shop, or any software that allows photo resizing, reduce image to 72dpi, less
than 5MB, and no smaller than 1920 pixels on the longest side.
• Upload image to your profile
• Apply to call, “Summer Show for PVAC Artist Groups.”
• Submit one photo per entry if the piece is 2 dimensional. For 3 dimensional pieces,
(ceramics, sculpture or jewelry), up to 3 photos of the same piece may be submitted in
order to show the work from all sides.
• JUROR SELECTIONS WILL BE ANNOUNCED BY CAFE BY JUNE 8

Juror selected artwork must be hand-delivered to the Palos Verdes Art Center main gallery on Friday, July 13 from 9am to noon. NO EARLY DELIVERIES. ALL WORK MUST BE
DELIVERED ON THE ABOVE DATE.
REQUIREMENT FOR ENTRY: Current member in good standing of PVAC and one of
its 8 active affiliated Art groups. Works that have been in previous PVAC exhibitions are not eligible.
SIZE LIMIT AND FRAMING:
• Maximum size 50”W X 60” H including the frame for two-dimensional work. This also applies to diptychs and triptychs. Weight not to exceed 30 pounds. Maximum size is 72 X 36 X 36 inches for three-dimensional works; weight not to exceed 150 pounds
• No damaged frames. Frames must be in good condition.
• All 2-dimensional work ready for hanging with D rings and wire.
• 1 ó inch wrap around canvas need not be framed but should be painted on all sides. Canvases that do not wrap around or thinner than 1 1/2 inches must be framed.
• PVACA reserves the right to refuse artwork that does not meet with requirements even though accepted by the juror.
MEDIA: Work in all media is eligible.
FEES:
